Privacy Policy
Yapdesk provides live chat, message/ticket handling, notifications, billing, and optional AI features for website owners. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as business name, website domain, email address, password hash, plan, and billing status.
- Website connection data such as site public keys, site secret keys, widget settings, availability mode, colors, and notification email settings.
- Chat and ticket data such as visitor messages, agent replies, visitor email if entered, visitor token, page URL, timestamps, ticket status, and conversation status.
- Billing data handled by Stripe, such as customer ID, subscription status, invoices, and payment method summaries. Yapdesk does not store full card numbers.
- Optional AI configuration, such as website URLs to scrape and brain/context text provided by the account owner.
How We Use Information
- To provide live chat, tickets, dashboard access, notifications, and account management.
- To connect WordPress and other websites to the Yapdesk hosted service.
- To process subscriptions and invoices through Stripe.
- To provide optional AI responses when enabled by the account owner.
- To protect the service from abuse, spam, security threats, and unauthorized access.
Sharing With Service Providers
We use trusted service providers to operate Yapdesk, including hosting infrastructure and Stripe for billing. If AI features are enabled, message/context data may be sent to an AI provider to generate replies.
Website Visitors
If you chat with a website using Yapdesk, your messages, optional email address, page URL, and a visitor token may be sent to Yapdesk so the website owner can respond.
Data Retention
We retain account, chat, ticket, and billing records as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve reliability. Account owners may contact us to request deletion where applicable.
Security
We use HTTPS, authentication, site keys, and access controls to protect the service. No internet service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect customer and visitor data.
Your Choices
Account owners can change widget settings, disable the widget, close conversations, manage billing, and request account support. Website visitors can choose not to provide an email address unless sending a ticket/message that requires a reply.
